As we have to write an
academic paper about an EU-related topic, we are asked to list the top 5 topics
we would like to write about.
Here are the 5 topics I chose:
- The Gay
Rights:
This topic would interest me, because at the moment I don’t know anything about it and since I have some gay friends I would like to learn more about this topic.
- Erasmus
in the EU:
As I would like to do an Erasmus semester in my Master studies, I am very interested in the policies within the EU. Maybe I could list the main differences between an Erasmus semester in the EU and outside the EU.
- How to
get a member of the EU:
Which criteria must it fulfill? To be truly honest I don’t know any of them, but I would be very interested to learn more about it. And maybe I could also take Turkey into consideration.
- Translators/interpreters
working for the EU:
What are their tasks? Which criteria do they have to fulfill in order to work for the EU? Which are the main topics they have to translate/interpret? As I would like to work as an interpreter one day, this topic is very relevant for me.
- Eurozone:
I am very interested in this topic because I do know what the Eurozone is, but actually do not know which countries are actually members and why some countries do not belong to the Eurozone? What actually means to belong to the Eurozone for each member? What are the advantages/disadvantages?

AntwortenLöschenI like your topic about how to become a member state of the EU. It is actually also one of my topics I chose. I imagine it would be interesting to know about the criteria a nation has to fulfill to become a member state.
I also find the topic about translators and interpreters working for the EU very interesting because it could be a future employer for some of us studying on the ITAT. I know that it is really difficult to get a job as a translator or interpreter for the EU. Therefore, I think you could also write about the application process. I didn't think about this topic myself, but it appeals to me. This could be a really interesting topic to research and write about.
If you choose to write about it, you could also look at some sample tests to see the language skills and level one needs ;)
